Visiting Dubai, U.A.E

Alhamdulillah i got another chance to visit Dubai from my office, I  thank GOD we went to most Japanese and Western restaurant, not so much Arabian, African, Indian and Lebanese from last year.

And I also thank GOD that the meeting and other business things went great, no high tense or difficult agreement, so much better compare to my last time. So i consider everything went smooth this year :).

Plus, i also got my free time almost a day w/o any bosses around. hell yeah! I can say this is some kinda luxury ‘coz in our company, there is no such thing as sightseeing if you went for a work, so I felt very lucky i got a chance to went around Dubai a ‘lil bit, also having free time dinner at our first day; which mean i could spent some time with my friends :D.

So, i would like to review some places i have been visit in Dubai, from last year and this year. just sit back and enjoy!

Burj Kalifah

This is the tallest building in entire world these days. It has 828m (2.717feet) and also the fastest lift in the world (60km/hour)! It actually took only 5 min to go up to the top and i forgot how many hundred i’ve went. Ah, if you want to go up there, they have this facilities called “TO THE TOP”, where you could buy online and booked for your visit time. Yes, i should mention this: they have per-hour reservation. So you could go up there according to which time you booked, then they will wait for you about 15 mins, but if your haven’t show, your ticket will expired. hoho, so be careful with your schedule.

I can say this building is totally pretty. The main idea of this construction is an Arabic flower (which i forgot what its called), so if you seen this building from the sky, it actually have 3 leaves that describing the flower image, interesting, eh? They built this building firtly on 2007 and open for public start on 2010. wow! very fast for mega structure like this one. salute!

journey to the top Burj Khalifa

Dubai Mall, Dubai Fountain, Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo

The second place to-must-visit, is the largest mall on earth, DUBAI MALL. practically you will find EVERYTHING you need in this mall. They got most branded clothes, restaurants, ice skating, fountain, biggest candy & chocolate store called Candylicious (you’ll get crazy inside this store, hohohoho), and surely the aquarium and zoo.

Ah, you also could reach to Burj Khalifa from this mall! hoho, so great isn’t it?. They even have their on taxi which will take you to any store you wish inside the mall (not free of course :)).

Anyway, lets focus on Aquarium & zoo. They have tunnel inside the aquarium just like we have in Sea World Ancol, they also have the zoo on higher floor which is amazing! their collection for fish (incl. Piranha and American Paddle fish), several wild reptile such as alligator, crocodile and also PENGUINS!  You could have it all by purchase the ticket separately or you could just having their special package for all facilities including feeding the fish inside the aquarium, so thrilling!

for more info you could just click in here: http://www.thedubaiaquarium.com/

So this is Dubai Mall:

it just a small part of it 😀

Aquarium & Underwater Zoo

several things you could find in Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo

Dubai Fountain:

Haven’t share anything about it, hoho. So, In the Middle of Dubai Mall, The Address hotel and Burj Kahlifah, they have small lake with connecting bridge to all three building where you could have Dubai dancing fountain on it. They will start to play the dance every 30mins in weekend and have several music. So the fountain moves will be depend on its music. They have up beat music and romantic music, so it is very great experience to enjoy the moves. Very beautiful at night indeed.

The best place to have dinner: Around the outside-bridge-part of ground floor Dubai Mall (many selection), Karma Restaurant from Souk Al Bahar (great fusion Japanese restaurant), Indian restaurant from Armani Hotel (Armani Hotel is in Burj Khalifa Building), Nando from across the bridge (African cuisine) or the latest restaurant “The Atmosphere” also from Burj Khalifa building only higher level from Armani (haven’t try this one but it already fully booked until end of December).

Burj Al Arab, Souk Madinat Jumeirah

This 7 stars hotel also the one and only we have in entire world (at least so far), located in Jumeirah district, one of member of Jumeirah group. It actually have another one hotel, Jumeirah Hotel Dubai. Just one bad thing about Burj Al Arab building is that we have to pay AED 500 (around Rp. 1.500.000) just to visiting. Can’t believe how much should we pay for one night! hoho.

Near to these hotels we could visit Soukh Madinat Jumeirah which having great antique stores and also art festivals from Arabian and Indians. It also have a small lake with small boat which able to rented for having a round of that lake. We also could see Burj Al Arab for this place and hanging out with some friends or having romantic dinner with the one you love.

I went here with some friends to have a cup of coffee and having good time. Yet the place is very irresistible to be missed. I’m very enjoyed my time. After having some good coffee, we went to public beach near the district and actually had several shot of the building and ourselves (this time we did a ‘lil narc ism).

Soukh and the hotel

Ah, by the way, have i tell you that Burj is Arabic word for Building and Soukh is Arabic word for art? 😀

Dubai Museum

Dubai only have 1 museum, located in the AL-Fahidi fort and it is the oldest building in Dubai. In this museum, you will find their original house, original transportation, original weapons and lots of diorama in their underground museum. Well, from what i saw our Dubai-an and Indonesian grand grand mother is the same: sailor. The original house also similar just like we have in many village.

I also experiencing Arabian Henna. Its only AED20 for 1 hand. The lady who made the pattern is Indian and she took only 5 minutes to finished all the pattern. Oh, its so beautiful! 🙂

In underground museum, they actually dividing several phase from their habits and life style to their sea experience. I could assure you that this museum is marvelous and so great to see! they actually have sand on the ground to make the visitors feels they are part of it. So great! hopefully Jakarta could have one like this (one! i think that’s not so impossible, isn’t it?)

Please enjoy my photos:

Small tour the Museum

Well..that’s several interesting places i had visit in Dubai yet i still have long list to visit. Just for your information that Dubai also have 1 mall which having Ski inside (yes, they have! I just looked the ski field from outside, haven’t got a chance to experiencing skiing), Desert Safari (heard this one is very trilling and fascinating but you need to spare 1 day for this), The Palm Island! oh yes! it’s definitely a must visit, and surely Dubai creek for some lazy time and fishing.

I have experienced Dubai for 2nd time and yet i still amazed about all the finest foods and beautiful places to explore!  Now i wonder, will i make it to the end of 2012, to get there and may be having more experience for my 3rd time visit, FOR FREE? we’ll see, we’ll see 😀
